Insulation Repair & Installation Services
Pests have a natural instinct to maintain the survival of their colony and of the species. This usually means finding a suitable place for nesting that provides the conditions they require. Unfortunately, they are not discerning of where those conditions exist, even if they are in your home.
Thankfully, there are steps that you can take to make sure your home does not provide the conditions that pests find so appealing, and the experts at A-One Pest Control can help! We provide many options for pest prevention to ensure that your home is only comfortable for you and your family to live in – not pests!
Some of the prevention options that our team can expertly provide you include:
Vapor Barriers:
Often called “vapor diffusion retarders”, these preventative tools are meant to prevent excess moisture in your home from developing into condensation, which can then be absorbed. The space under your home is closely situation on soil, which naturally has some amount of moisture in it. Using vapor barriers such as plastic sheeting can contain that moisture and keep it in the soil, rather than in the air.
Belly Wraps:
Under your manufactured home is a space between the flooring and the soil, this space is referred to as the “belly”. It is important that the belly of your manufactured home be sealed completely airtight to maintain insulation and reduce moisture. This is achieved by installing a belly wrap around the entire area of the home. Sometimes, the belly wrap needs to be repaired if spaces around the water and gas lines are not properly sealed and leave a vulnerable space in the wrap where pests can enter.
Vent Screens:
The under part of your home is especially vulnerable to high levels of moisture. This is because of the proximity to the soil and the amount of water in the earth. For this reason, having proper ventilation around the foundation of your home is essential to controlling the moisture level. To achieve this, most homes have ventilation cut outs in the home’s foundation. While these cut outs are an excellent way to promote ventilation and maintain ideal conditions under your home, they are also the perfect entry point for pests if they are not properly and securely screened off.
Dry Rot Repair:
When areas of your home are left unchecked and moisture levels are allowed to become excessive, materials like insulation, plaster, and plywood will begin to absorb the excess moisture and grow fungus. This fungus will cause the host material to decay and eventually lead to dry rot.
Disinfect, Sanitize, and Virucide (DSV):
One of the dangerous effects of having high levels of moisture in your home is the growth of mold and mildew. These fungi can create an environment that is hazardous to the health of you and your family. Thankfully, the highly-skilled pest control technicians at A-One have training and knowledge of how to disinfect, sanitize, and virucide your home to eliminate any amount of bacteria, viruses, and fungus.
Maintaining the secure and safe feeling that you and your family expect in your home is essential for most families, however, when pests move in, that feeling is replaced with fear.
